I appreciate when fashion has a sense of humor, so when a troop of good-looking men parade down a runway with aluminium-silver hair, making them look like they’re trying to protect their tender brains from thought-reading space aliens, I’m all about it.
Jean//phillip’s show was a fun mix of feminine styles redesigned for men (shirts with the sides cut out, delicate necklaces), sleek black and bringing back Venice Beach circa 1989 mesh. It kept things light while playing with the idea of masculinity in fashion.
One thing worth noting: Jean-Phillip is just about the nicest fashion designer we’ve ever seen. He was so genuinely happy backstage, so kind with the models and everyone else working, and so generous to allow us to capture it all.
