As we branch into Iceland, we’re excited to showcase life in the country; the landscape, architecture, food and people. Lucky for us (and you!) there are lots of great photographers where you can get a peek into the beauty of Reykjavik and the whole of Iceland. As Instagram continues to grow, the ability to see the world through your phone becomes easier and easier. Take a look!

In addition to a fun, informative photo account, IHeartReykjavik is also a blog that focuses on travel to Iceland – you can even take a tour with the creator, Auður! A great starting place for learning about Iceland.

Lögreglan á höfuðborgarsvæðinu (Reykjavik Police Department) @logreglan

It may seem strange, but the Reykjavik police department have become quietly famous for their adorable, lovely Instagram feed. Obviously everything here is low-key – no perp walks or high-speed chases – and for the most part, very cute (like an officer-with-a-golden-retriever-puppy cute).

A gorgeous look at the seasonal Icelandic landscape, from mountains to waterfalls to lagoons to vast fields.

The Blue Lagoon @bluelagoonis

The official account of the Blue Lagoon thermal spa, this is a great account to get you excited about an upcoming trip or just to learn more about the lagoons. It’s almost a spa-experience just to go through their feed.

Stunning photography that focuses in equal part on Iceland’s natural surroundings and architecture in Reykjavik. The city-based Hans-Olav is a Norwegian architect and his excellent eye for buildings in their natural context is obvious.
