Six Open Events at Copenhagen Fashion Festival SS16

Though Copenhagen Fashion Week can seen like it’s only for fashion insiders, the Copenhagen Fashion Festival is bringing information about the Danish and global fashion industries to a wider audience. Some events are free, some are ticketed, but all are open.

Here’s what on from August 5th – 9th around the city.

Exhibits

Artist Helle Fulgsang has created “Clothes Make the Man,”  a series of representations of African women in Copenhagen Fashion Week. Go see the exhibit as well as a panel debate and performance, all beginning at 7:30 pm.

Is there’s anyone more inspiring in fashion than Iris Apfel? The 93 year old has been a style icon for decades and shows no signs of slowing down. Legendary documentarian Albert Maysles’s film about her is guaranteed to leave you feeling fashion-forward.

The Green Walk

In association with NICEprojects, Copenhagen Fashion Week has put together a list of shops that carry at least one sustainable fashion brand. Sustainability in fashion is still controversial – what does it even mean?
