If you’re in, or plan to travel to, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, Oslo, or Reykjavik, this is going to be very useful for you. Here’s how to use it:
Create Itineraries
Plan where to go in advance, or save the locations you’ve enjoyed so you can remember them for next time (or share them with friends). You can create a simple “favorites” list, or make more specific itineraries based around neighbourhoods, categories like “best coffee,” or day-by-day plans.
To create an itinerary, tap on any location, then tap “add to itinerary” just under the description. You can then choose to add to an overall favorites list, or to a new itinerary. Your itineraries continue to work when your phone is offline.
Map Function
The Map function can be found at the top right corner of the app. You can see your own location relative to the rest of the pins throughout the city, and easily choose a location to visit based on what’s in your immediate vicinity. Locations are marked with a letter that denotes their category (“F” for food, “C” for culture, “O” for outdoors, and so on).
Other Features
The tabs at the top of the app include a “Discover” section, which allows you to browse the categories, and a “Now” section that shows you places that are currently open.
What Does it Cost?
The Scandinavia Standard travel app is free to download and use, with a low-cost upgrade of €9.99 ($11.50 or kr75) that will unlock 100% of the locations for a year. When you use the free version of the app, you’ll see that some of the locations are marked in grey with an “L” that indicates the location is “locked;” upgrading makes those locations visible.
