This season’s Stockholm Fashion Week is a bit smaller than past years, but that just allows for laser-like focus on the collections that will be coming down the runways. A few of these brands are showing for the first time, while others are well-established on the Swedish scene. In all cases, these are brands that bring something new and exciting to Stockholm Fashion Week, and we can’t wait to get our eyes on the goods.
These are the Swedish fashion designers you need to know about for this season:
Johannes Adele
Winner of the Swedish Fashion Talents award for 2017, Johannes Adele is a young designer who already has an incredible body of work behind him. His gender-fluid, modern and inspired pieces are a reminder that cultural aesthetics defy boundaries when given full and deep respect. We’re really looking forward to this show.
Ida Klamborn
Ida Klampborn proves, season after season, that she is the queen of Swedish cool. Her colourful, textural separates can be dressed up or down, and everything is wearable yet a little eccentric. We’re in constant lust for her collections.
Daily Routine
Exactly as their name suggests, Dailyroutine is all about the clothes you need on a daily basis. Their menswear focuses on suits, shirts and knits. Their pieces are stylish and classic; the kind of clothes you’ll be wearing for years to come.
STAND
What started as a leather outerwear company has now become a full-fledged cult brand. Their faux fur coats are epic; just look at the Idette Simple Coat! They’re now producing everything from scarves to collars to skirts, and each piece is edgy and fun. This is a brand to watch.
Hope
Hope is all about easy basics done right. Their minimalist aesthetic paired with oversized silhouettes is the kind of clothing that’s both comfortable and chic. Perhaps not the most dramatic runway fodder, but definitely what you want in your wardrobe.
Emelie Janrell
Emelie Janrell’s clothes are all made-to-measure in her Stockholm atelier, and it’s clear from her collections that her attention to detail is meticulous. Moody, sophisticated and elegant, Janrell’s clothes are what you’ll want to wear to a romantic midnight soiree in a house overlooking a chaotic ocean (atmospheric, right?!).
