The last Scandinavian fashion week of the season, Stockholm always dresses to impress. With a range of exciting brands from the globally established such Bjorn Borg and J. Lindberg to emerging designers and brands that are pushing the creative envelope, Stockholm Fashion Week is an important gateway to understanding Swedish and Scandinavian fashion – a major export for the small country. Get ready to be inspired, whether you’re into meticulous minimalism or over-the-top artistry.
Here are the Swedish brands we can’t wait to see on this season’s runway:
Totême
Talk about real Swedish minimal elegance: Totême blows everyone else out of the water. Founded by Swedish super-blogger Elin Kling, Totême is showing at fashion week for the first time and we can’t wait to see the chic, simple ensembles sure to come down the runway.
Berggren Studio
Though she’s previously shown her collection at Copenhagen Fashion Week, Tove Berggren of Berggren Studio will be in her native Sweden this year. The textile designer has provided prints for some of the biggest Scandinavian names around and we love seeing her apply her skill with patterns and color to her own pieces.
Björn Borg
The Björn Borg show is always great fun, but this year is going to be special as it celebrates the release of the “Signature Collection,” a retro-inspired sportswear collection. The show is also connected to the release of the biopic “BORG,” coming to theatres worldwide soon.
Rodebjer
As if we weren’t already excited about Rodebjer’s blend of bohemian silhouettes and clean lines, this season’s collection is inspired by Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good.” Incredibly modern and compelling, Rodebjer’s pieces are always the right combination of timeless and on-trend. A brand we love.
Lazoschmidl
This season of Lazoschmidl reimages gay icons. Their non-binary, colorful, sexy and playful take on fashion always feels like a breath of fresh air and we can’t wait to see what this emerging brand is up to.
Valerie
Valerie is all about dressing women to showcase their power. Unexpected silhouettes, deep colors and a mix of 3D textures make for an always-interesting collection. This season, the inspiration is a love affair in a sic-fi-horror story. Exactly the kind of clothes we need!
