Great Comfy SofaMoniqueI've had mine for about 3 years and it's still as comfy as it was when I first got it. It is little lower than a standard sofa, but it's furniture if you're a lounger.5
Nice for Studio ApartmentJeremyI purchased this sofa to go into my studio apartment. My boyfriend and I were sitting on it while we were taking a break in the store and it was nice to lounge in. I originally chose fridtuna beige fabric which was what was on display. The fabric is very durable but the texture is a tad rough on bare skin. So we returned the fridtuna and bought Gransel natural which is an improvement. It's much softer and gives an airy look. I didn't like the skirt at first but it's growing on me.
I would say this sofa is ideal for apartments because of how modular it is. You can remove the arms, the back, the pillows, etc for easy transport. The fabric can also easily be washed or changed out. I would say that's the value this sofa brings...it's versatility! I also like the depth of the sofa which makes it a wonder to take naps on. I paired it with a handmade wool rug from IKEA and it's very stylish. Overall, as my first sofa purchase, I'm very happy. 5
Don’t buy!!!AndreaWhat the description doesn’t say is that the fabric is not attached and that you have to iron each piece. Took me 6 hours all together to put together. Not worth the price. The fabric is cheap and any little stain shows. Also, this couch is not comfortable!! 1
Favorite!!!MichelleWe got this couch 3 years ago when my husband and I first got married, and to this day it is our absolute favorite! We're couch potatoes and love to lounge on the couch (pretty much all day) and this has kept up with ZERO sign of wear/tear. Almost every guest we have over compliments our sofa, saying it's so comfortable and they can't believe it's from Ikea. Not sure why there are such poor reviews... because we love it and would recommend it to anyone and everyone! The minimal design compliments any space, it's super sturdy and held up perfectly with movers (not even once, but twice), and I LOVE how deep the seats are. An adult (probably 5'-7" and under) can lay down comfortably like a bed as well. Highly, highly recommend!5

Love it! Comfortable and it’sJoweeLove it! Comfortable and it’s small enough but big enough!5
Great couchJenniferWe've been going on year 5 with this couch. I agree the padding is a tad thin but it's a very comfortable sturdy couch. Love how spacious it is. Anyone who wrote a bad review just shouldn't be shopping at IKEA. This is a quality piece for the price, we love it!5
Broken:(Renee’It has been a little over a year that I’ve had this couch, and it’s now broken and caved in. Just like that. This does not last very long and not durable at all.1
THE BESTRachelI am REALLY confused at the bad reviews of this couch. It is by far the best couch I’ve ever bought. It’s so deep which makes taking a nap on this thing magical. The fabric is perfect as it withstands spills and any stain is really
Camouflaged. When I was shopping around for couches and stumbled upon the SODERHAMN, I admit I kept my search moving both because of the very mixed reviews,
And also because it was not typically the type of couch I usually go for (huge, plush sectional, flush to the ground). But, because I downsized tremendously I needed
To get practical. I LOVED the look of it and noticed a lot of use for it in staging homes. Which ultimately led me to my next suspicion that it just looked good but wasn’t good for actual use or comfort. Well, as my search continued I found myself coming back again and again for the SODERHAMN; and well,
The rest is history. My advice for you would be to ignore the bad reviews. It’s a GREAT couch that can be customized to your needs.5
I love this couchLoriI purchased this couch 4.5 years ago and I love it more now then when I first purchased it. I love that I can change the entire look by changing the covers, having no arms ,adding just one or both. It's also roomy for a nice afternoon nap with my dog.5
Worst sofa we’ve ownedCatherineVery uncomfortable, long seat with little
cushion and short back. All 8 family members find it intolerable. Ottoman has been on backorder for 18 mos which is fine because we are sending this to Goodwill asap.1
Love it at first but not durableSzymonI really loved this sofa's design because it fit my room aesthetic perfectly. Was super happy to buy it. Assembly was simple. It's super comfy. I especially love the very deep seating compared to other sofas. The cushions tend to move forward a bit as you sit but it wasn't a huge issue for me.
However, very quickly (around 2-3 months in) one of the legs started to move. At first I didn't notice it but quickly the leg snapped. Turns out the part to which the leg is attached completely broke. It's impossible to repair it seems as that part comes with the whole base of the sofa -- I would need to buy a brand new one. For now, I put some books there to support the sofa but I am forced to buy a new one just a few months after owning this one.2
THE BEST SOFA!Anonymous reviewerI am so happy with this sofa and can’t understand the negative reviews. It is so deep and so great for napping. The cushions are springy but extremely comfortable. If you want a more plush feeling just add some king size pillows to the inserts. The material hides any stain and it holds up very well. The popularly of this sofa is truly justified. Also love that I can add to it if I move to a larger space.5
I hate this sofaChelseaWe ordered this sofa from the ikea website several months ago. This is when it was really hard to find a sofa in stock anywhere because everything was back ordered. We needed a smaller sized sofa for our space so our options were limited. The color we ordered was beige/brown which unfortunately looks more like grey in person. The fabric is a bit rough but that's really the least of my complaints. This sofa put off a bit of an unpleasant new sofa odor the first several months. One good thing is that the depth makes it a good place for overnight guests to sleep but it is absolutely horrible to sit on. The cushions were so thin I had to buy extra foam cushioning to shove underneath and the space between the two seat cushions also creates an awkward uncomfortable gap in the middle. The cushions have a tendency to slide forward because when you sit on the sofa you have to sit toward the front to not be in pain. I cant wait to get rid of this sofa I hate how much money I spent on this.1
poor qualityVioricaSo we bought this couch 6 months ago. We loved it, despite the fact it looked a bit flimsy. Well, let me tell you IT IS flimsy. After roughly half a year, one of the seats broke, and now that side is simply caved in. Just with like any cheap couches. Ikea, please, work on your quality on this line. It is beautiful, simple, minimalist... but no quality whatsoever.1
