Danish fashion designer Anne Sofie Madsen has a red thread running through her collections: time. Or, perhaps, timelessness. There’s an aspect of futurism to her work, while recalling various trends of the past, from shoulders of the 1980s to fringe of the 1920s to the Edwardian button detailing of a jacket. To weave these looks together so seamlessly – to, in fact, make them timeless – is no small feat, but Madsen has managed it with grace.
Her neutral palette is the foundation for far more complicated draping and cuts. The pieces are wearable, interesting, and flattering. If this is fashion’s future, count us in.
