Finnish Marimekko seemed to be showing up everywhere during Paris Fashion Week, but their most self-reflective moment was during their runway show, “The Art of Printmaking.” Draped with huge swaths of their iconic fabrics, the show was as much about their process and history as it was about the clothes.
Of course, it was the clothes that were on display. And they were fun, wearable, and a beautiful contribution to the already covetable Marimekko wardrobe. The brand excels at oversized, comfortable silhouettes with eye-catching prints and colors that still, somehow, manage to look pared-down.
