Before you’re even through the door of Mirins Copenhagen’s shop and office space, the smell hits you.
It’s calming and herbal, slightly sweet. “It smells amazing in here!” I tell Jane. She sniffs delicately before shaking her head, “it’s hard for me to smell when I’ve been in here for a few hours.”
Regardless, the smell seems to dictate the Mirins atmosphere. I sit down to fresh-brewed green tea and homemade coconut-date bites.
We begin by talking about Jane. When Jane then realized she had an allergy to synthetic fragrance, she began looking for products that she could use. What she discovered was that she’d have to make them herself.
Launched in 2012, Mirins Copenhagen uses only natural fragrance and organic ingredients to create body care products that utilize principles of aroma therapy, a practice in which Jane is certified. Ingredients include base oils like apricot oil, rose hip oil and essential oils like rose geranium essential oil and frankincense essential oil.
The Mirins Copenhagen aroma therapy mood-enhancing blends that come in five varieties: Recharge, Intuition, Calming, Purify and Happiness.
Items can be purchased from her webshop and storefront. Giftboxes, which are packaged in 100% recycled materials and still manage to look adorable, are a pretty excellent present for Christmas; you can even come into the store and create your own personalized gift box and top it off with a card you stamp yourself.
