Copenhagen Fashion Festival is the free and public arm of Copenhagen Fashion Week. They organize a ton of events over the course of the week that allow everyone in the city to be part of CPHFW, whether they’re in the fashion industry or are just looking to have a little champagne on a Friday evening. Everything from lectures by designers to films to free makeovers are available. Here’s our selection of events. If you’d like to find out more, read the schedule here or download the app.
Exhibitions
Runways aren’t the only place to see a line up of great outfits and designs. Exhibitions and open houses are a great way to learn more about the history and future of fashion in Copenhagen; check out New Nordic Fashion – The Good Guys Exhibition for a menswear overview. Fashion Design Academy Open House on Thursday 29 Jan is great for those thinking about pursing a career in fashion.
Film
Copenhagen Fashion Festival is doing a great job of diversifying. In collaboration with (and located at) Design Society, they’ll be showing two fascinating fashion documentaries: In Vogue: The Editor’s Eye, a look behind the scenes at Vogue, and Mademoiselle C, on Carine Roitfeld. Just RSVP to reserve a seat!
Get Pampered
Is there anything more luxurious than getting glammed-up for free? There may be, but we probably can’t afford it. Take yourself out for a little primping at these events:
- The Beauty Shop Free Makeover, Wednesday 28 Jan 10-16 at The Body Shop
- Tres Emme Blow Dry Bar, Thursday 29 Jan & Friday 30 Jan 12-18 at Nytorv Fashion Square
Fashion’s Night Out
A global Fashion Week staple, Fashion’s Night Out means that stores in the center of the city stay open late, have discounts, meet-and-greets, giveaways and host events with drinks and nibbles. Get a group of friends together and make your way around to the shops to see what’s on! We recommend:
Talk the Talk
Looking to get into the fashion world? Simply want to know more about it? Copenhagen Fashion Festival is hosting a number of talks with industry leaders like Mads Norgaard. This one is in Danish, but others, like the talk by fashion blogger Camille of Camille Over the Rainbow, is in English. Check ’em out!
Late Night
There’s nothing more fashion-y than getting dressed up and heading out for a night of debauchery. After you’ve had your complimentary hair and makeup done, head to Drop Dead Fashion Week Late Night Lounge, where you can get cocktails, see the latest Pelle Pelle collection and dance with a live DJ deep into the night. Or, head to Hotek Skt Petri for a party hosted by CPH Finest and Le Management (RSVP needed).
Are there any events you can’t wait to go to? Tell us about them in the comments!
We hope to see you around the city during Copenhagen Fashion Week!
