Is there anything like sharing a bottle of wine with good friends? We don’t think so, except maybe opening a second bottle. Whether you’re into biodynamic wine, French wine, Italian wine, sparkling wines, or just a good 2-for-1 deal, Copenhagen has something for you.
Here are the places we go to for that sweet, fermented grape juice:
Ved Stranden 10
One of our favorite spots in the city, Ved Stranden 10 not only has a fantastic selection of wine, it also has one of the best locations in Copenhagen, right on the Frederiksholm canal. On a sunny day, there’s nothing like sitting out by the water and enjoying a cold glass. During the colder months, the extremely stylish Scandi interior will keep you cosy. For an extra treat, check out their “Monday food” event, where a dish is served by a guest chef for 100 DKK.

Den Vandrette / Rosforth & Rosforth
Den Vandrette is the wine bar supplied by shop & occasional pop-up location Rosforth & Rosforth. The bar is the mix of high-class and low-key that makes for a relaxed yet gourmet night. The selection is focused on natural wines.
Located a bit further south-west along the water, Rosforth & Rosforth is delightfully housed under Knippelsbro (way better than a troll!). It’s a wine store where you can buy bottle, but it’s also possible have a glass at one of their Saturday tastings on the water. They even do events – it’s a really special place. This is where the noma pop-up was housed during 2017.

Ancestrale
A cosy little wine bar tucked away in Vesterbro. Aside from a lovely and extensive wine list, they have daily plates of tasty food – you can order a single plate, or get a 3 dish menu for 395 DKK. From 4 – 6 pm every day you can take part in an “Eftermiddagsmager” (afternoon tasting): 3 glasses for 100 DKK. Definitely something worth toasting.

Bibendum
On the charming Nansensgade is a great place for pre or post-dinner drinks when you’re out and about. The vibes are good and the crowd is always happy. They also serve a host of platters and snacks inspired by the Spanish and French kitchens. Their wine menu includes a great primer on wine; perfect if you’re a wine-amateur or just want to learn more! Bibendum is the first wine bar by the folks behind Pate Pate, Antidote and Falernum.

Mother Vin
Italian wine, Italian tapas and a cosy storefront in the centre of Copenhagen. If you’re into Mother Pizza, you’ll definitely be a fan of this wine bar. You can do a tasting, have a single glass, buy a bottle to-go or just indulge in the freshly-made Italian bites upstairs.

Vinhanen
Vinhanen gets their wine directly from producers, so you actually get to choose from their tanks – a little different than your typical wine menu. Because the wines are tapped, the prices are really good. The tanks change regularly, including the occasional natural wine, so feel free to go time and time-again! If you really like something, you can buy a bottle to take home.
