Copenhagen Fashion Week runs 6th – 9th August, and while it’s true that most events are for industry-insiders, there is also plenty going on for non-industry people who just love fashion. From fashion shows that celebrate design students to exhibitions about fashion tech and sustainability, there are many ways to enjoy CPHFW.
The events we’ve found are all open to the public and mostly free, occasionally requiring RSVPs. Go have a glass of champagne, enjoy the clothes, the good weather (we hope), and the fun vibes.
These are the best open and free events to attend during Copenhagen Fashion Week SS20:

Fashion Tech & Sustainability Exhibition
Tech isn’t always discussed in relation to sustainability in fashion, but it’s a major component of how best to approach environmental and human impact of the fashion industry. This exhibition at the Geological Museum explores the relationship between the tech and sustainability; definitely worth a look for those interested in how to make fashion a less harmful industry and what the future holds for sustainability practices.

By Malene Birger Wild is the Wind & Rent the Look Pop-Ups
Danish fashion brand By Malene Birger is running two pop-up shops this season. The first pop-up features looks featured inspired by the “Wild is the Wind” SS20 runway show – available for a limited time only.
The second pop-up is for their clothing rental platform, where you can try on and directly rent clothes from the runway collection. This is perfect for summer events like weddings and other fancy-pants parties.
What could be better to celebrate a new collection then getting to try it on immediately? Pretty much nothing!
