Copenhagen certainly has its own style, but sometimes even the most Scandi-obsessed of us crave something different. When you’re feeling an irresistible urge to glamorously sip red wine with a cigarette dangling from your fingers while discussing life’s meaningless journey towards oblivion (or, whatever being French looks like to you), we’ve got you covered.
Go ahead and unleash your inner Francophile at these spots:
Beau Marche
The popularity of Beau Marche continues to grow over the years and it’s no secret why: it just feels like Paris. The cafe and wine bar in the courtyard (with street-side seating as well) serve delicious food from fresh-baked croissants and coffee in the morning to croque monsieur and goat cheese salad in the afternoon/evening. The design shop out front is a treasure chest of beautiful interior goods as well as a few fashion and beauty finds. Enjoy some browsing then unwind with a glass of wine and a bite. Absolute heaven!

A French restaurant that isn’t precious about that title, Je t’aime fuses New Nordic and French cuisines perfectly. The results are the pure, seasonal ingredients of the Nordic kitchen with the wallop of indulgent flavor (read: butter, salt, etc) of the French.

Isabel Marant
The highly-sought-after quirky and chic French fashion label has a huge storefront in the centre of Copenhagen, making it a go-to for French fashion in the city. The store itself is minimalist and spare, making it a great marriage of Scandi and French style.

Le Gourmand stocks plenty of exquisite goods, seldom found outside of France. Customers include leading Copenhagen restaurants and even the Royal household! If you’re looking to try before you buy, however, you’re in luck, as the store acts as a wine bar with charcuterie and snacks too. Granola
Located on Værnedamsvej, an especially French-feeling street between Frederiksberg and Vesterbro, Granola sits close by to an upmarket pet store and groomers, where Frederiksberg locals take their beloved pooches for puff coats and blowouts. Really, is there anything more Parisian?
It isn’t all dog spotting at Granola, however, as the brunch and dinner spot is favoured by Copenhagen’s more glamorous crowd for it’s 30s-style interiors and platters of oysters. The menu has a mix of classic French and Danish cuisine, including Croque Monsieur, smørrebrød, beef tartare, and of course, pomme frites.
