Pura Utz: Home of the Birds launch event
Guatemalan-Danish brand Pura Utz is celebrating the launch of their new collection and you’re invited. The starting point for this new collection were the textiles worn and made by the team, connecting worlds now only through craft and social impact but also creatively. Pura Utz understands itself as a female empowerment project: co-run by Bernabela and Anna, the brand focuses on enabling a full-time income to a team of more than fifty women in Guatemala to help them grow their self-worth through providing for themselves and investing in their futures, all the while continuing to make unique handmade products of high quality for you. The launch event runs from 11 am to 4 pm – swing by to meet the team, browse the collection, and enjoy some wine and cake.

The series comprises 101 black-white photographs portraying members of the artist’s family and social circle, ranging in age from 0 to 100 – from eight-week-old Felina to centenarian Maria Victoria. The exhibition will be on display until June 2025.
Alexej Jawlensky at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art
Though closely associated with the European avant-garde movements at the beginning of the 20th century, the Russian painter Alexej Jawlensky (1864-1941) seems to have found his very own artistic voice rather late in life. This exhibition focuses on Jawlensky’s path towards a highly distinctive expression in the form of his small, beautiful and mysterious meditations. Having been born into a regimental family in Russia in 1864, he abandoned a potential military carreer in favor of the arts. At the art academy in St. Petersburg he met the painter Marianne von Werefkin and together, the couple moved to Munich. There, Jawlensky attended a private painting school with, among others, Wassily Kandinsky and became closely connected to the famous artist movement “Der Blaue Reiter” which Kandinsky initiated. The exhibition will be on display until June 2025.
Breaking Darkness at Nikolaj Kunsthal
Drawing inspiration from Lars von Trier’s oeuvre, Nikolaj Kunsthal is transformed into a sensory experience, blurring the boundaries between visual art and film. Through five site-specific installations spread across all galleries, including the iconic Nikolaj Tower, his works are put in dialogue with the historic church spaces, allowing for a physical and tactile encounter with the filmmaker’s aesthetics and imagery. The exhibition will be on display until July 2025.
Banu Cennetoğlu: Being safe is scary at Kunsthal Charlottenborg
Through a series of works, Istanbul-based artist Banu Cennetoğlu moves from societal issues to more intimate spheres. Critical investigations of the daily press, the migration flows through Europe and the UN Declaration of Human Rights are brought to dialogue with an extensive private image archive, connecting the small and large events of everyday life with urgent global issues. This is the artist’s first solo exhibition in Denmark and part of HUMAN:RIGHTS – a new collaboration between Kunsthal Charlottenborg, CPH:DOX, and Human Rights Watch Denmark. It will be on display until August 2025.
Frederik Næblerød: All walks of life at ARKEN
Danish artist Frederik Næblerød (b. 1988) is known for his uncompromising art that challenges our accustomed understanding of painting and sculpture in a raw, energetic, and playful style. With his works ranging from painting, ceramics, bronze, and drawing to large-scale installations, he has created a very special artistic universe that invites us inside into the spontaneous, absurd, and humorous. The artist’s largest solo exhibition to date will be on display at ARKEN until September 2025.
Jakob Kudsk Steensen: Psychosphere at Cisternerne
With “Psychosphere,” Danish artist Jakob Kudsk Steensen has created an immersive installation specifically for Cisternerne’s unique underground space, taking the emergence of life deep beneath the ocean’s surface as a point of departure. The exhibition is based on the artist’s own fieldwork and makes use of video projections, sound, light, and sculpture to weave a narrative about the profound interconnectedness shared by all living species on Earth. The exhibition will be on display until November 2025.
Little Table, Cover Thyself! at Design Museum Denmark
There’s something special about the art of table-setting and the way a decorated table sets the scene for special and everyday occasions. Experience how table-setting has changed over time and admire the collection of plates, figurines, jugs, and more. All the way through to 2025, seven of the museum’s historical tables are decorated with items from the renaissance until today.
